9. A map scale and cardinal and intermediate directions can be used to describe the relative location of physical and human characteristics of Ohio and the United States.
This one uses the in game map, but not in the game. Students should get a screenshot of the map and print it out. Then students should add a compass to their map and label the North, South, East and West directions on the compass. They should then be able to label the Intermediate directions Northeast, Northwest, Southeast and Southwest. They can then label all of the areas on the map. They can give lakes, mountain ranges and communities name labels on their map as well.
