Counting & Cardinality

2. Count forward beginning from a given number within the known sequence (instead of having to begin at 1).

Instead of counting the old standby manipulative blocks, students can count blocks of anything in Minecraft.

This can happen in 2 ways:

Method 1: Students already have a certain number of blocks laid down, lets say 2. Then they can place blocks of their choice and continue counting from 2 as they place the blocks.

Method 2: The teacher can set up a certain amount of blocks and have the student add blocks to the teacher’s “pile” and continue counting from where the teacher left off.
